Canberra, 18 December 2019: The role of libraries in supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) has been recognised in a recent discussion paper from the Australian Human Rights Commission, Human Rights and Technology.
The paper directly references the submission which the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) made to the Australian Human Rights Commission’s Human Rights and Technology Project on the importance of libraries supporting the SDG.
Additionally, the paper highlights digital inclusion and digital literacy education as important issues relating to human rights and technology. These are areas where libraries are highly involved and influential.
The discussion paper has been released as the final round of the Australian Human Rights Commission’s Human Rights and Technology Project and is available to read on the website.
