Digital Trends - what's happening now

Digital Trends - what's happening now

Course Overview

Digital trends today are tomorrow’s reality. What we thought was a theory or notion is part of our day to day. Think of the 3D printer now used in many libraries. Regardless of the size or type of information service digital trends have had an impact and caused change.

In this course we will look at new technologies, proposed innovations, new devices, or hardware, as well as technologies already in play. Consideration will be made how these could be integrated into information services or already are. These conversations will of course include AI, ever present today.

This is a 3-week professional development unit. You will receive a Certificate of Participation upon the successful completion of this course.

Course Content

Digital trends will be defined and explored under the structure of:

  • Information and customer service
  • Technical services
  • Inclusion and accessibility.

This will be a shared learning experience. Participants will use provided resources and draw on their thoughts, learnings, and experience in various activities.

Right for you if...

  • Work in any information service and have any interest in new technologies
  • Would like to increase your knowledge of digital trends
  • Wish to develop your practical applications of new technologies
  • Learn more about the range and types of technologies on the horizon
